31 Days of Halloween – Day 14
Hallowtober Day #14:
Go for a hike in the woods. Notice everything around you. The colors, how the leaves seem to drip in hues of amber, red, yellow, orange and green. How Mother Nature’s handiwork is so intricate in all of its patters she weaves, and how all of the little imperfections are the most beautiful. Feel the crisp air gently wisp across your face and how it sends your hair dancing in the breeze. Breathe in the scent of oak, maple and pine. As an artist, a hike in the woods is one of the things that inspires me the most. I feel so lucky to spend some time in Minnesota this year to really enjoy the forest to the fullest!

I know that some of you may disagree, but I just have to purchase 1 bag of candy corn each year… of course I only get the finest… the ones that are made with REAL honey… They’re better for you, no? I know I can get outta control with these, so I need to preface this post with… Eat responsibly!! What’s your favorite Halloween candy?

Hallowtober Day #12:
Listen to some spooky music… I like playing the soundtrack to Bram Stoker’s Dracula to get me in the mood… ahem… the Halloween mood! In fact I’m listening to it right now…

31 Days of Halloween – Day 11
Hallowtober Day #11:
Light some delicious pumpkin and fall scented candles and make your home totally cozy. Just sit back, relax, close your eyes and deeply breathe in the autumnal scents while the flickering light bathes you in a warm glow. Now that is heaven!

Hallowtober Day #10
Read Francesca Lia Block’s new novel, Beyond the Pale Motel. Eeee gads is it GOOD!!! She’s a brilliant writer with all of the novels and beautiful stories she’s woven over the years. And this book in particular is a great read at this time of year as its content is super dark, spooky, and very sexy… all at the same time. This dark delicacy is one to read again and again. So amazing how literature can scare the bejeezus out of you when it’s words on a page, but thanks to Francesca’s beautifully detailed writing, your mind creates these amazing visuals to go with it… I like!
Beyond the Pale Motel is in stores now, so scoop up your copy right away! Once you have it in your hot little hands, go curl up on your couch and dive in!
